Imagine

Road Trip Wednesday is a ‘Blog Carnival,’ where YA Highway's contributors post a weekly writing- or reading-related question that begs to be answered. In the comments, you can hop from destination to destination and get everybody's unique take on the topic.

This Week's Topic:
What was the best book you read in May??

The best book I read in May was Imaginary Girls by Nova Ren Suma.

Here is the Goodreads blurb:

Chloe's older sister, Ruby, is the girl everyone looks to and longs for, who can't be captured or caged. When a night with Ruby's friends goes horribly wrong and Chloe discovers the dead body of her classmate London Hayes left floating in the reservoir, Chloe is sent away from town and away from Ruby.

But Ruby will do anything to get her sister back, and when Chloe returns to town two years later, deadly surprises await. As Chloe flirts with the truth that Ruby has hidden deeply away, the fragile line between life and death is redrawn by the complex bonds of sisterhood.

This drew me in and got me thinking. Thinking til my brain hurt and although I read it weeks ago I'm STILL thinking about it. I don't know whether I actually liked any of the characters which normally would put me right off a book but this one... well, it worked for me anyway.

What about your best May read?

  1. I love the cover and books that stay with me long after I finish them. I will definitely read IMAGINARY GIRLS. Thank you for sharing! :)

My May read went to SCARLET by Marissa Meyer (Second Book of the Lunar Chronicles). It's better than the first book, CINDER which is pretty good. However, I'm enjoying the book I'm reading now A LOT more.

  3. The best books are the ones I'm still thinking about weeks later. Your review has encouraged me to add this book to my TBR list. Pretty cover, too. :)

  4. This definitely is going on my to read list! But, the books that I just can't stop thinking about are my favorites. I finished Insurgent by Veronica Roth FOREVER ago and still think about how crazy it was sometimes.
